May 26 – Heisey – The A. H. Heisey Glass Company of Newark, Ohio made some of the finest quality glass in America – we’ll learn more about this company that closed in 1957.
June 16 - Club Picnic at Buckland Park on Winton Road; details to follow.
July 28 – Fostoria - The Fostoria Glass Company began in Fostoria, Ohio in 1887 and moved to Moundsville, WV for better access to natural gas. They advertised their wares as “Fostoria, the Crystal for America” Show Display Preview: Last year’s winners Barb & Jeff Stein share their idea ”Over the Rainbow” with us. Displays will consist of a minimum of 5 pieces; displays will be set up according to the color spectrum. Business: show and display sign-ups.
August 25 – McKee and Jeannette – The McKee Glass Company of Jeannette, PA began producing glass in 1901, and continued until it was acquired by the Jeannette Glass Company in 1961. Jeannette had been in business since 1898, and moved their entire operation to the McKee factory. Jeannette remained in business until 1983. Business: Show sign-ups.
September 8 - Small Companies - Everyone knows the names of the bigger companies, but there were many prolific smaller companies such as Liberty, Bryce, and Jenkins, just to name a few. Let’s see how many different companies we can fill the table with! Business: Finalize show sign-ups.
